PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

1981-2007

Senior Psychologist, Department of Child Psychiatry, Stroger Hospital of Cook County, Chicago, Illinois. Co-Director, School Problems Clinic; 1985 to 2007, Steering Committee of Cook County Hospital Association of Psychologists, 1985-86, 1990-91 and Chair, Education committee 1998-2011. Teaching responsibilities included case consultation to staff: conducting seminars on assessment and treatment of emotionally disturbed children, training pediatrics residents in child development, parent training learning problems, ADHD, and assessment of atypical emotional development. Clinical duties included assessment, treatment and liaison in School Problems Clinic and Child Psychiatry Clinic.

Duties included psychotherapy, diagnostic testing and interviewing for disturbed children and their families; conducted individual, group and family therapy. Administered multi-disciplinary team, which provided intensive milieu treatment to preadolescent girls and latency boys. Supervised interns and taught clinical seminars. Conducted research within the clinic.

1976-91

Appointment as Assistant Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry, Northwestern University Medical School.

1976-78

Acting Director of Training, Division of Child Psychiatry, Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. Major role as administrator of APA-approved predoctoral internship program (3 full-time interns). Other trainees included part-time interns and practicum students from Northwestern University and summer clerks from Chicago universities. Duties included coordination of supervision, seminars, and evaluation of interns, as well as direct supervision and teaching. Initiated and wrote a grant submitted in September 1977 for N1MH training funds.

1973-75

Assistant Professor, University of Kentucky in child clinical. Courses taught include Psycho-logical Testing (senior level), Child Clinical Psychology (graduate), Projective Techniques in Personality Assessment (graduate), Introductory Psychology (undergraduate), and Introduction to Clinical Psychology (graduate). Supervised individual psychotherapy. Member, dissertation committee.

Taught informal seminar in child treatment. Chair, Colloquium Committee, participant in Developmental Psychology Research Seminar.

1971-73

Staff clinical psychologist at Student Health Center, University of Texas. Carried caseload of individual clients, representing various nosologically groups. Group co-therapist.

1972-73

Taught assessment practicum to first-year graduate students, University of Texas.

1971-72

Psychometrist for Department of Special Education, Austin Independent School District. Evaluated school age children for placement in special programs by means of interviews, and personality, intelligence, and achievement testing.
